Sometimes we all get so wrapped up in the day to day operations, financial decisions, the endless meetings, the technology review and purchasing decisions - that we may lose sight of why we all do this in the first place?
There's a reason the average life expectancy has doubled in this country - electricity, refrigeration, and access to decent sanitation and safe drinking water.
Getting people's attention is our guiding principle. Science can only take us so far, we need to connect on a personal, emotional level. People understand children paddling, being able to eat the fish they caught, or that you need clean water to make an ice hockey rink!
Wastewater Education 501(C)3 is a public outreach and information access organization dedicated to advocacy for the protection of water as a vital human and ecological asset through the implementation and management of affordable, appropriate wastewater systems.
We are a national and international education service provider and host/facilitator.
We are independent and impartial, assisting individuals and communities to discover the financial and environmental advantages of implementing AFFORDABLE, sustainable, integrated water infrastructures.
We provide information, resources and education activities to facilitate consensus building in an open, informed, collaborative, and inclusive process. Communities are the best stakeholders to determine their own specific needs and capabilities, and arrive at the water management solution that best meets those criteria.
We operate with the bare minimum of overhead costs, utilizing regional health department facilities and relying upon web based communication, education and public outreach.
We are a GuideStar Gold Partner, an EPA WaterSense Partner, a Google For NonProfits Partner, and a LinkedIn Premier Board Connect Member.
We are committed to making our education events available to those with hearing, sight or other disabilities and those for whom English is not their primary language.
This is what we do.
Because water is water, not waste!
