Ridge House has been in business for almost 40 years and in this time we’ve proudly become a pillar of the community, saving millions of tax-payer’s dollars by keeping people out of the criminal justice system, rebuilding lives, reuniting families, and helping people find strength in themselves they never knew they had. We’re here to help anyone who needs us. Helping is what we do.
And now we are turning to our community to ask for help in return. Our goal is to never turn anyone away because of inability to pay. Moving towards this end, we are exploring a grant called “A Community Thrives”. This opportunity begins with a crowd-sourced funding campaign and, hopefully, ends with a $25k-$100k grant award. This money would go towards covering the costs of our services for clients straddling the poverty-line (those who don’t qualify for Medicaid but don’t have expendable income). We must raise at least $6,000 to progress in the grant application process.
This is especially relevant for our residential clients as they transition to outpatient. We utilize Nevada Medicaid to cover counseling services until we help them find work and they begin earning a livable wage. At that point, they are usually no longer eligible for government assistance. Leaving a residential substance use treatment program for an independent life is difficult for clients when they start from nothing then are faced with rent, buying groceries, obtaining transportation, and so on, all on little more than a minimum wage job. When they are also being charged for individual counseling, group therapy sessions, and workforce resources that have previously been free, it can be incredibly challenging exactly when they need the continued support. Your contribution will help ease that transition from residential services to outpatient so our clients can become happy, productive members of the community.
Please help us continue to help our “Community Thrive” by donating and sharing the link below however you can. We are, as always, eternally grateful for any support and love we receive.
