We had a close friend, outdoor enthusiast, and young mom die at just 37 years old from the ripple effect of undiagnosed breast cancer. By the time she discovered it, days after a joint family camping trip, she was already at Stage IV.
Even if it's not your own cancer, or in your own family, this kind of bombshell rocks your world with questions about time. What if she had discovered it earlier? What if she had more time to be a fabulous mom? What if none of us knows how much time we'll have? Is this how I want to spend the rest of my life?
Two years later, I had left the corporate world and was reconnecting people with the outdoors--an idea that later focused into the mission of making biking easier for everyone by thinking differently about bikes.
This is our first year at Stand Up For The Cure, but Flatbike is "all in"; we will be manning a booth all day, showing how full-size mountain and hybrid CHANGE bikes can fold in half quickly to go anywhere you do. If you connect with this goal, or the related goal of giving women more time outside by catching breast cancer earlier, we encourage you to donate on this page.
It's time for a CHANGE. Catch breast cancer earlier.
