Golf has impacted my life in so many ways. It’s a game that reinforces the benefit of slowing down in our fast-forward world— it takes great patience, it challenges mental wherewithal, it rewards commitment.

In August, I partnered with Howard University to help launch their first NCAA D1 golf program. The ultimate goal is that together, we grow the game of golf, and get more talented, diverse athletes in the game, starting with HBCUs.

Now we need your help.

Ayesha and I are excited to announce the first Stephen Curry Charity Classic presented by Workday, benefitting our Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation and PGA REACH. We launched Eat. Learn. Play. earlier this year with an aim to create equal opportunities and bright futures for every child. We believe talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. Eat. Learn. Play. is committed to unlocking the amazing potential of every child by fighting to end childhood hunger, ensuring universal access to quality education, and enabling healthy and active lifestyles.

The mission of PGA REACH (the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation of the PGA of America) is to positively impact lives through golf, which it pursues with three areas of focus: YOUTH, MILITARY and INCLUSION.

I became involved with PGA REACH last year when they asked me to become an Official Ambassador for the foundation’s youth pillar program, PGA Jr. League. PGA Jr. League brings boys and girls together for fun, team golf experiences, all with expert coaching from PGA and LPGA Professionals. Through scholarship opportunities, PGA REACH ensures each and every kid has access to PGA Jr. League and the opportunity to learn and play a lifetime sport.

On Monday, Sept. 16, I will be joined by 50 teams of friends for a fun day of team-based golf competition at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, California – home of the 2020 PGA Championship – to benefit Eat. Learn. Play. and PGA REACH.

Our goal is to raise $1.3 million dollars through this one event. Please help us hit this goal!

Through the generous support of Workday as the presenting sponsor, along with your donations, all net proceeds will be equally split between Eat. Learn. Play. and PGA REACH.

Grateful to you, and grateful to the game.
