BENEFITING: The Multiple System Atrophy Coalition
ORGANIZER: The Multiple System Atrophy Coalition
This picture is my husband Fred with our grandson Tristan. Fred loved being around all our grandchildren , but he was unable to do the things that most grandparents love to do with their grandchildren. Fred was diagnose at the age of 56 with Multiple System Atrophy a Rare Neurologist Disorder which kept Fred from doing many things that we can do without thinking. His breathing , speech , balance , blood pressure and everything that has to do with the center autonomic system. Fred who was a proud person could no longer do things for himself , but had to have help with most everything. Tristan wasn't Fred's first grandchild , he was the ninth. Fred passed away sudden in his sleep 3 weeks after this picture at the age of 61. The day of the service our oldest granddaughter who was only 5 when Fred was diagnose telling me " Grandmom I don't ever remember grandpa being well". No grandchild should ever only have those memories of a grandparent.
This holiday season you can make a difference.
Right now approximately 13,000 Americans and countless more people around the world are fighting a rare and terminal disease called multiple system atrophy (MSA.) The disease strikes people in the middle ages of life. It slowly and progressively takes away their abilities to walk, talk, swallow, and breath. It takes away loved ones, spouses, parents, grandparents , friends, and coworkers. While it takes many things from patients including their abilty to work and be productive, and ultimately life itself, #MSACantTake the humor, love and will to fight of MSA patients and their families.
It is a horrible disease and it cannot be defeated alone. Your help is urgently needed!
This holiday season please support The Multiple System Atrophy Coalition, a 501c3 dedicated to better awareness, education, patient resources, and most importantly finding a cure for MSA.
For the remainder of 2015 100% of every donation received will go directly into our MSA Research Fund. Over the past two years we have funded 17 reserarch grants with ~ $700,000. Your donations and fundraising efforts will allow us to continue funding this very important research.
