Yakima Humane Society is the ONLY open admission animal shelter in Yakima county. 5,500 to 7,000 animals come through our doors every single year, and we never turn away strays, even when full. Not only are these homeless pets provided with a safe place to stay until they find their forever homes, but they are also vaccinated and treated for any injuries and disabilities they might have. We do whatever it takes to treat what is treatable, with no time limits. We are committed to ending animal suffering and cruelty, reducing animal overpopulation, and educating the public regarding responsible pet ownership.  We practice and promote the humane treatment of animals through animal control services, pet adoption, humane education, information, referral and quality animal care. The funds raised through this campaign will enable us to save more lives. Dog and cat food, medications, vaccines, cat litter, dish detergent, etc., are all essentials in the daily operations of our shelter. Help us save more lives by donating to this campaign!
