Wounded Waters (WW) is Veteran led, registered 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2017 by Kevin and Stephanie Klepac. Our mission is to enhance the lives of our county’s wounded warriors through outdoor adventures and fishing trips for Combat Veterans, Active Duty Military and First Responders.
At Wounded Waters, we understand the issues and struggles Veterans deal with every day, because we have been there ourselves. Too many of our Veterans and Service Personnel are feeling anxious, depressed, stressed and alone. Some are even at a high risk of suicide, a tragedy which we strive to prevent. Wounded Waters is breaking down the barriers around Service men and women by offering outdoor outlets for their stress on group fishing trips. Our goal is to let these warriors know they are not alone and offer a helping hand out of the darkness they may be struggling with. We believe that the power of friendship, a boat, and some good fish stories can literally help save lives.
Wounded Waters offers free single and multi-day fishing trips for small groups of wounded warriors in the Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Louisiana areas. Through these trips, we've seen a total change in Veterans' demeanor and outlook on life. Our participants feel a sense of comradery and safety from our WW community where they often start to open up and talk about their struggles. Ultimately, we hope to open an outdoor retreat in Southern Florida dubbed Wounded Waters Ranch for service members from all over the country to come and experience the healing powers of friendship and fishing with us.
