The Women’s Shelter of Central Arkansas has been providing assistance to victims of family violence in Central Arkansas since 1995. What started out as a volunteer information hotline has grown into a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week hotline and shelter, housing community members in need of safety. Over the past 12 years, we have grown to include a Sexual Assault Assistance/Recovery Program, support groups, transportation for our clients, and personal, legal, and child advocacy programs.
We intend to be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team of community professionals who desire to see the end of domestic and sexual violence. With this community approach, we will begin to bring about change in our institutions, laws, policies, attitudes and beliefs that will allow women, children and men to live free from the threat of domestic and sexual violence.
