Our Mission

Womankind works with survivors of gender-based violence to rise above trauma and build a path to healing.

Womankind, formerly the New York Asian Women's Center, is a big name built on big ideas. We started out very small, but our dreams were anything but. The founders envisioned helping women rise above violence and move beyond trauma. And we have been working to make those dreams a reality. Collectively, Womankind strives towards reducing inequality and inequity in our society—the underpinnings of violence. But, there is still a ways to go.
