BENEFITING: Wellness In The Schools Inc
ORGANIZER: Wellness In The Schools Inc
EVENT DATE: Nov 03, 2013
Hi! My name is Simon Pfister... Thank you for visiting my fundraising page...
Last year I was supposed to run the 2012 ING NYC Marathon representing Chop't Creative Salad Company in running for Wellness in the Schools (WITS). Unfortunately, mother nature sent Sandy along and the marathon was cancelled. Well, you can't hold me down, so here I go again. I'm running the 2013 ING NYC Marathon and I'm representing Chop't and WITS again.
Due to last year's cancellation this will be my first event with this organization but I'm very excited about the difference they are making in schools around the United States which I got to witness first-hand when volunteering with Chop't's adopted public school!
Please read on to learn more about WITS, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for visiting my page and PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY to make a difference in the lives of school children around the country!!
You can also visit http://www.nycharities.org/donate/c_donate.asp?CharityCode=3375 to give directly to WITS (please put Simon NYC Marathon in the 'Designate your donation to a specific program or fund if you use this option' field).
Make a difference in the lives of thousands of children by supporting the Wellness in the Schools (WITS) ING New York City Marathon Team as they fundraise for healthier food and fitness programming in public schools.
This year WITS has seen unprecedented growth: We are now in 47 NYC public schools, 12 schools in eastern Kentucky, and have launched the revolution in two Florida pilot schools. WITS has been named World Diabetes Day Champions by the International Diabetes Foundation; Food Revolution Heroes by Chef Jamie Oliver; and Lunchbox Heroes by Renegade Lunch Lady, Chef Ann Cooper.
By supporting the WITS marathon team you can become part of the school food revolution and support much-needed food and fitness programming in high-poverty public schools.
