Fresno County Supervisor Henry Perea was first sworn in as a member of the Board of Supervisors in January 2005 and is now in his third term. Prior to Supervisor Perea’s election to the Fresno County Board of Supervisors, he served on the Fresno City Council for six years and the Fresno County Board of Education for 5.5 years. He also spent 15 years as a reserve police officer in the Fresno Police Department and has worked more than 36 years in human resource management.
Supervisor Perea’s deep passion for the safety and well-being of all Fresno County residents is the driving force behind his service to the community. He serves on several committees, including as the First 5 Fresno County Commission Chair. As the First 5 Commission Chair and a proud grandfather of four beautiful grandchildren, Supervisor Perea is dedicated to helping children have access to the highest quality care and educational services to help them have bright futures. Supervisor Perea proudly supports Make-A-Wish to help build a better future for children to empower the minds of tomorrow.
Make-A-Wish® grants the wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition in the United States and its territories. We believe that a wish experience can be a game-changer. This one belief guides us in everything we do. It inspires us to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids we serve. The Central California chapter was founded in 1986, Make-A-Wish Central California chapter has granted over 2,000 wishes and serves eight counties: Fresno, Madera, Merced, Mariposa, Kern, Kings, Tulare and Inyo. We grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
