We are getting ready for a workshop at Full Gospel Church. Pastor Al Green on 2/28/2016 for the Children's Black History Month, but we can't See More

Hi, my name is Wilma Jackson, I've lived in Memphis, Tn. for 64 years, and I've never seen so much violence in the last few years. This year along, there has been over 91 domestic violence cases, most of that is killings. I worked for one of the leading Youth Facilities for 6 years, and they would let me talk to their children. Most of them would get up and give me a hug, and say they have never been talked to before like I did. These children are hungry for this kind of caring and food for your thoughts. I have then gotten up a small group, and we started going around town doing workshops, short speeches, showing our art work, giving refreshments, and the traveling to these places has gotten expensive. Let me tell you why I'm so passionate about talking to these young people. When I was 23 years old; I had to get out and find me a job because I had a one year old baby. I was working a Loeb's Bar B Q, when my boss asked me to take care of the shop for 20 min. until my shift change. He left, and it wasn't 2 minutes two young guys came in talking loud and cursing. I asked them, "Could you queiten down a little because you are scaring the customers. The big one turned and looked at me and asked, "who are you?" I said, "I work here." I don't think he thought about what he was doing, he jumped over the counter and started to kick me and was hitting me. He beat me so bad. I don't know how, but I got up and ran, headed to the glass door. I turned around to see how far I was from him. This guy was in the air kicking, and that's when he kicked me through the door. A man said, "I'm a doctor." I was passing by. I saw the commotion and I stopped to help." "I must have been down for a few minutes, when he raised up my head, I saw the big guy running up the street. The doctor said, "I'll try to help you." He yelled, "Some one get me some towels." Next thing I remember, I was in the hospital. What I'm trying to say is, the Lord sent that angel by that night to save me, or I would have died in that parking lot. Someone is going to tell me that the doctor just stopped to see why the crowd were standing around looking and doing nothing, No, that was my angel that stopped and I never got a chance to thank him. A lot of these young people are not so lucky. These kids are dying way too soon. Everyday on the news, you can hear about these children being killed for some reason. I feel a need to try at less to help them, and talk to them. In these workshops, if we can get to some of these young people and ask them to control their temper, control their anger, and stop the violence because it can take their life or freedom away. Then we have tried to do our job as mothers, parents, people in the community, and society. Your donations will help with supplies, food , travel, and some of our free gifts we give to them just for coming out. My group is made up of retired and professional people. We all love what we are doing. Right now, it only 6 of us. We go out to churches, community centers, and where ever we are invited. If you could give $5, 10, 20 or even $50.00 we would appreciate your help. We are trying to turn a little life around. We do believe in a second chance in life. We want to thank you in advance, and we send our love. If you would like to get in contact with me. My email is Wilmacjackson@outlook.com Invite us to your facilities .
