Wildwood Farm Sanctuary is raising funds to build a hen house and safe play yard for hens who came from the egg laying industry. Meet Misty who was rescued from a battery cage egg-laying operation in California. At just a few days old, she was debeaked with no anesthetic or pain medication, forced to live her life in a tiny cage along with 5-6 other hens with each hen only allowed space the size of a sheet of paper.

Her sole purpose was to produce eggs for two years, and then be disposed of.

Misty came from a farm where 50,000 hens were abandoned and left to die. Many died of starvation or dehydration. Luckily, Misty was rescued from these horrible conditions and now lives with us at Wildwood sanctuary.

We're making space for additional rescued industry hens, just like Misty, who will be joining us in later this summer. Wildwood Farm Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations are tax deductible.
