Heidrea for Heroes, Inc. is assisting American Legion Post 188 in Sandwich, MA with the purchase and installation of a new wheelchair ramp to access their facility. We were delighted to have been approached by Post Commander Ray Tourville (Army, Infantry Airborne) to see if we could lend a hand due to their tight finances. The existing ramp does not have a landing at the top, making it difficult - if not impossible - for a wheelchair-bound veteran to open the door independently.
The Post is holding it’s Holiday Party on December 12th and H4H is committed to having the new ramp in place just in time for the celebration! Will you help us provide so many of our local veterans with access to the important ongoing camaraderie and festivities that the Legion offers? We hope so! Gifts of any size are truly appreciated and will help make a difference!
American Legion Post 188 hosts social gatherings, entertainment, meat-raffles, and camaraderie-building opportunities for veterans of all ages to enjoy. Several members (at least 15) who attend gatherings frequently, are disabled and use wheelchairs. Seasonal events draw visiting members from Brockton, including 60+ who are disabled and need easier access to the building. The Post also serves as a function hall available for rental for community events and celebrations.
H4H is working with Amramp to provide a high-quality ramp solution for this important organization, featuring an open mesh ramp surface which reduces the possibility of ice forming during our New England winters and a raised gripping surface that makes it slip-resistant. And it's made in the USA of durable, fireproof, recycled steel.
Heidrea for Heroes is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing a helping hand and custom solutions for veterans facing challenges in civilian life. Thank you for your support!
