Arts for life is an amazing group! Not just a group for us but FAMILY!!! Our story with Arts for Life starts back in 2002; A month before Westley's 2nd birthday, he was diagnosed with childhood cancer ALL Leukemia. He under went about 2 1/2 years of treatment. Though those years Arts for Life has brought happiness, thing to clear our mind. It gives us something to do to keep us busy so our mind isn't on all the negative. Unfortunately for Westley relapsed when he was about 18 months off treatment. Then came the worst, most difficult time. Westley had to go back through a much harder chemo regiment. Which meet being in the hospital more than home. It meant raising a new born baby in the hospital. It meant living out of suitcases. Not having a chance to gather things to occupy time. But Arts for Life, was there to provide not only Westley but our family with activities. Painting, coloring, building, making things, ideas on top of ideas, poetry. They came up with was for Westley to deal with cope, and show how he felt about what was happening. Even today Arts for Life for is still an active part of our life! We are every greatful for this program and whAt it means to our family!
