Westcott Community Center is looking to replace its 2003 Chevy Express van with an updated 14-passenger model that is accessible for people of all abilities. A proud partner of the United We Ride Transportation program, WestcottCC provides an average of 5,089 rides each year to older adults in our community. Whether 1:1 or group trips, adults 60 and over depend on WestcottCC for free, reliable, and safe transportation to and from the doctor’s office, pharmacy, grocery store, bank, and daily activities and meal services at the center, including food pantry and exercise class. Westcott Community Center is seeking community support through participation in a GoFundMe campaign to meet our fundraising goal of $45,000.

With the onset of COVID-19, we are not currently able to provide transportation for our older adults in an effort to protect a vulnerable population; we are now bringing services to these clients with our van. We deliver prepared meals, food pantry items, household essentials, cleaning products, adult diapers, and masks. We will continue to do everything in our power to help our clients get what they need to live healthy, safe, and independent lives. As soon as it is deemed safe, we will resume transportation services for our older adults again, bringing them to the services and places they need to go.
