Since the first year I watched the Boston Marathon live from the finish line, it has always been a dream of mine to run it myself one day. To be honest, I don't truly enjoy running, but I do love this great city that I was born and raised in, and I loved the teary/happy feeling it gave me seeing people cross the finish line and I wanted to feel that pride and accomplishment even if it meant I had to do a buttload of running. Through the years I have watched many friends and loved ones complete this fete, always loosing my voice from cheering so loudly, and always keeping in mind my goal to be the one being cheered on one day.
Last years tragedy was the motivating force that I needed to make my dream happen this year. Fulfilling my dream will enable me to support those who suffered last year, show solidarity for my city and lastly, to give a nice big F YOU (pardon my french) to the people who tarnished one of Boston’s best, happiest, most uplifting days of the year.
The One Fund raised and distributed over 60 million dollars to 232 victims and survivors of the marathon bombing. A second distribution will be taking place this summer, please help my positive running experinece help those victims and survivors in a positive way by donating to this great cause.
BOSTON STRONG BABY!
