BENEFITING: FRIENDS OF THE PARKS
EVENT DATE: Jan 01, 2018
A Place for Wonder, Engagement and Discovery in Nature.
The Welles Park Advisory Council, in partnership with the Chicago Park District and Friends of the Parks, are working to create a space for nature in the city. In a city known for its parks, its river and its lakefront, this space will be special because it will be designed for unstructured nature play for children of all ages. This NaturePlace will take the place of a former playground near the busy intersection of Western and Montrose Avenues but will serve as a wild place, full of hidden nooks, climbing challenges and buzzing wildlife.
