4th Annual Rock 'n' Bowl-a-thon
EVENT DATE: Sep 17, 2016
Help us raise $15,000 for the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls Fairness Fund!
Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls is a non-profit music and mentoring program that serves over 500 girls, women, and gender non-binary/non-conforming youth in NYC each year. We encourage campers to act as leaders in their own process of musical creation, to ask questions of the world, and to build community together.
In celebration of the proposition that GIRLS ROCK, we’re hitting the lanes to support our Fairness Fund, which ensures that all of our programs are offered free of charge, or with sliding-scale tuition.
We invite you to join us, as a team captain, a bowler, or a team sponsor for an afternoon of over-the-top fun in support of our Fairness Fund. Sign up today!
When: Saturday, Sept. 17, 2-5pm
Where: Frames Bowling Lounge – 550 W. 40th St. (at 9th Ave.) in Manhattan
Here’s how the Willie Mae Rock ‘n’ Bowl-a-thon works:
FORM A TEAM! -- Teams can be 4-8 bowlers who sign up and fundraise -- all ages and all gender identities welcome. No bowling prowess necessary. The sooner you get started, the more time to raise money and win prizes!
INVITE SUPPORTERS! – Teams must raise a minimum of $500 (per team, not per person) by September 2nd to bowl. Tell everybody you know (your friends, band mates, coworkers, neighbors…) to support your team with a donation.
COMPETE FOR PRIZES! – The grand prize goes to the team that raises the most money, but ALL TEAMS that raise $1,000 or more get a secret special prize. It doesn’t stop there -- prizes for most team swag, best costumes, most strikes, best team name, and more!
DON'T WANT TO BOWL or LIVE OUT OF TOWN? – Donate to a friend’s team, or pick a team and help them exceed their $500 goal. Find a team with an awesome name, or the best graphic and rock them with your support.
So, start practicing your swing and get ready to ROCK 'N' BOWL for the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls Fairness Fund.
