Water for Life was started in 2012 by a group of people that wanted to make an impact on the critical unclean water situation affecting millions. We are a small group partnering with an amazing non-profit, World Vision, who has experienced people on the grounds ready to make things happen immediately through their WASH Program. This year we're helping an area that is truly one of the worst in Africa: In the rural Rwandan areas of Gashora, Ngenda, and Rugarama, more than 46,000 people do not have access to safe water. The eastern province of Rwanda—the location of the Rwanda Manual Drilling Project that we're supporting—is considered the most water-stressed region of the country. Rainfall is erratic, and safe water is scarce, with incidences of waterborne diseases as high as 54 percent. The area faces additional challenges such as a poverty rate of more than 60 percent and a mortality rate of more than 300 per 1,000 live births. To put things in perspective, America’s poverty rate is 15.1 percent, and the mortality rate is six deaths per 1,000 live births.
We have two goals that we hope you have an interest in helping us with:
1) Raise Funds:
Our goal is simple and effective: Raise $75,000 to go toward drilling 15 wells in these areas of Rwanda. This region is in unbelievably desperate need today. With your financial help and World Vision's manpower, we can get this done easily. Also, your donation is completely tax-deductible and ALL DONATIONS WILL BE MATCHED!

2) Spread Awareness:
Experience a "Water Walk" by walking 1/2 mile carrying a bucket of water to better understand what it's like in "their" shoes. It's an experience you will never forget. The "Water Walk" will begin at 5pm at Rocky Lake Ranch in Llano, Texas followed by a Shrimp & Crawfish Boil with hot dogs for the kids. It's for everyone and it's all free.
The ranch gates open at 2pm Saturday, April 6th through noon Sunday so you will have an opportunity to enjoy kayaking, hiking, wildflowers, trophy bass fishing, see some Buffalo or Axis Deer, bring a mountain bike or frisbee – all taking place high in the Riley Mountains on 350 pristine acres surrounding a 7 acre spring-fed lake. You can come for the afternoon, campout that evening, enjoy a nearby bed & breakfast, or head back home after watching the sunset over the lake. Please RSVP if you'll be coming to Rocky Lake Ranch so we can plan for the number of people.
