Volunteers of America has had a presence in Northern California and Northern Nevada since 1896. Throughout our local history, Volunteers of America has operated programs addressing a variety of community needs. With over 40 human service programs, including emergency shelter, transitional housing and substance abuse treatment, we maintain a strong emphasis on ending homelessness, supporting the most vulnerable, and transforming our community into a stronger, healthier place. Our service has supported and empowered America's most-vulnerable groups, including at-risk youth, seniors, homeless individuals and families, people with disabilities, and those recovering from addictions.
Volunteers of America is a national, nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to reaching out and uplifting all people, and bringing them to the knowledge and active service of God.
