This year Umojs's 6 Peace Rooms across Chicago will reach more than 1,500 students! We want that number to go up and we need your help to do it. Help us strengthen and expand our Restorative Justice work for more Chicago high schools. Let's get Peace Rooms to all students in all schools.
Why does this matter? Last year Umoja's school partners with Peace Rooms were able to decrease their suspension rates by almost 50% on average. We also kept students in school 1,200 additional days by using restorative practices to solve issues, instead of simply suspending students.

Umoja Student Development Corporation (Umoja) equips young people to succeed in college and confidently claim their future. Our core program areas include College & Career Readiness, Restorative Justice and Social & Emotional Learning.
Umoja’s overall goal with our Restorative Justice (RJ) program is to create a school culture of restoration and healing where students take accountability and responsibility for their actions, heal themselves and their community, and graduate from high school equipped with the skills to prevent violence in their community and the knowledge necessary for quality postsecondary options.
