EVENT DATE: Jul 18, 2014
I'm Sandeep Shah and I am an ultrarunner, which roughly translates to "runs 30-100 miles at a stretch." Sometimes, the paths are smooth. Most times, I am laboring up and cascading down myriad climbs and descents on technical trails. Some may look at this seemingly irrational activity and understandably think, "Why do something so hard?" But, however hard it may be, it pales in comparison to the difficulties and challenges faced by impoverished youth in India. These are children who may know little of life's pleasures but have been forced to adapt to some of life's most unthinkable ardor. However, they persevere, and we have the ability to create an environment which will allow them to get an education, push themselves, and end the cycle of poverty.
Please help me raise funds for Pratham. My goal is to raise $25,000.
I will be racing the Tahoe Rim Trail 100 mile run in July 2015. I am asking that you pledge per mile run, or if you prefer you can make a flat donation. After the race, you can then submit the full pledged funds. I'm running for those kids who would love a chance to learn and perhaps reach the mountains themselves. With your help, we can get some of them there.
