THE STORY:

"We are musicians in mental health recovery committed to personal and artistic growth. Through our musical performances, we share empowerment and healing." I am raising funds for one of world's most unique organizations (there are only 4 in the world like it) that creates and supports a community of musicians in mental health recovery and provides them them the environment in which to grow through employment, training, and the ability to self-advocate.
This small non-profit has been selected by The Philanthropy Connections as one of 31 of Boston's best non-profits because of it effect on the community. Over the years Tunefoolery Music has played to over 200,000 people, many in mental health recovery, and has help tear down the stigma of mental health recovery - these are professionals playing at a very high level bringing joy to thousands to whom music was a distant resonance.
For every $50 you invest a musician from Tunefoolery will be booked and paid to play and will undergo further training. That $50 will provide music to people in shelters, mental health centers, senior centers, schools, and places who need to be uplifted. This tiny non-profit is supported by the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health and has received accolades and awards on its extraordinary ability to help so many with so little. I am running to bring dignity and support to a small corner of our community brings so much to so many.
