Welcome to Trees vs Tires!
Thanks for taking a minute out of your busy day to care about us, you and the World we both inhabit.
Why organize a Charity called Trees vs Tires:
- We want to keep Caldwell and Essex Fells safe and green
- We root for the Little Man not Big Business
- We won’t tolerate Greed, Traffic, Higher Taxes, Pollution, Crimes
- We love our 100-year-old Oaks & White-tailed Deer
- We vote for Understated not Overdeveloped - Enough is Enough
- We fear Caldwell “University” will bulldoze you & everything in its path
- We….just prefer Trees vs Tires
What are the Details Behind Trees vs Tires: Caldwell College became Caldwell "University" and designed new Programs, Centers, and Development plans that have our beloved trees on the chopping block in exchange for parking lots. Again! More parking lots mean more traffic, higher crime rates, displaced wildlife, higher taxes, lighting nuisances, flooding concerns, increased pollution, potential health hazards, climate change and loud noise. The only thing going down will be property values, quality of life and the character of our neighborhood. As property values plummet in communities surrounding the parking lots, people everywhere else in town will have to pick up the difference.
Who Is Tress vs Tires: Trees vs Tires is a truly organic grass-roots effort that sprouted on the border of Caldwell/Essex Fells. We are responsible World Citizens in a quiet, suburban enclave trying to fight the sprawl of the greed machine.
Why are The Trees in Trees vs Tires so Important: Trees are essential for balancing out the environment. They help cool space and can help reduce energy costs, filter air, improve water quality and stop soil erosion. Trees naturally absorb water in their roots and by absorbing the runoff, trees also filter out harmful pollutants. They are a critical link our planet’s life chain. As trees grow, they help stop climate change by removing carbon dioxide from the air, storing carbon in the trees and soil, and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere. Trees provide many benefits to us, every day.
Now What: Donate. In an effort to raise awareness of this severe imbalance and preserve the mighty Oaks from extinction, Trees vs Tires is trying to raise money in order to fight this impending expansion. We've already spent more than $20,000 fighting the legal team of Caldwell University, and we're gearing up for more hearings on August 13th. If our small-town voices have been falling on deaf ears, perhaps big legal words will speak volumes. Our hope is that, through our lawyer and experts, we will begin to increase public awareness and factually point out why these parking lots should not be developed. With your donation, we are even more confident that we can ensure a greener, healthier tomorrow. If it weren’t for our Legal Team, the trees would already be firewood and the grass would be cement. It’s sad that we had to resort to such measures but if it means saving the community, than it's worth it.
DONATE $5. DONATE $5,000. DONATE A LITTLE. A LOT.
DONATE WHAT YOU WANT.
Thank you for your time. Trees vs Tires
