BENEFITING: Food Bank of the Southern Tier
EVENT DATE: May 11, 2016
Once again, I'm raising funds for the Food Bank of the Souther Tier and I'm asking for your generous support.
Because Marcia and I will be away during the Food Bank's Tour De Keuka bike ride in July, I'm raising funds on a 600 mile bike ride beginning in Bismarck and ending in Minneapolis. In North Dakota, I'll be riding on back roads across the High Plains, through small towns and the Sheyenne National Grasslands. The route in Minnesota will be mostly on the Lake Wobegon (yes, it's real) and the Central Lakes trail, through Minnesota woods and lake country.
Established in 1981 and headquartered in Elmira, NY, the Food Bank distributes food and other grocery products to people in need through a network of more than 165 member agencies including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other hunger relief organizations in Broome, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga and Tompkins Counties. The Food Bank also administers several direct service food distribution programs including the BackPack Program and Mobile Food Pantry.
Thanks so much in advance for your generousity! If you wish to follow my ride, you can find my journal here. My first updates should be there by May 13th:
