Tim Brewer's Medical Expenses
Organized by: Tobi Hickey
Thank you for visiting our fundraiser page! We are hoping to raise funds to help off set some of the medical expenses that Tim will be incurring during his illness. Tim's story... In the spring of 2015 Tim began having trouble eating due to his esophagus was not contracting the food down into the stomach. Thinking these complications were related to a lap band procedure he had done about 6 years prior, the band was removed in August of 2015. Unfortunately the issues with digestion did not go away following the removal and only worsened. Tim saw many doctors looking for an answer and was finally able to visit the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota in early January 2016. Upon arrival, Tim's body was so weak from lack of nourishment he was given a feeding tube thru his nose. While running tests to look for the cause of his problems, a CT scan revealed a mass around his pancreas. He was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer on January 10, 2016. Tim returned home to Texas and was cared for by his wife Debbie waiting to see an oncologist while still using a feeding tube. On January 21st, after seeing his oncologist he was admitted into Methodist Medical Center of Dallas. His condition remains weak, but the feeding tube has been removed and a stent has been placed in his esophagus to at this point allow for a liquid diet. They continue to run numerous tests and we will update this page through journal entries as we gain further information. We are asking for your prayers and support during this journey.
