BENEFITING: Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi
EVENT DATE: Oct 22, 2017
Hi guys, my name is Nikki and my daughter is a Type 1 Diabetic. She was diagnosed 2 years ago when she 6 years old. To say these past two years have been a challenge would be the understatement of the century. She has adapted remarkably well, but there are still days when she and I both are so incredibly angry and upset about this disease that we have to find a quiet, dark place to have a tiny pity party. After that's over, we brush our hands off and get back to the task of keeping her alive. PDM, pods, test strips, INSULIN...these are all words that have become part of everyday conversation at our house. As well as deductibles, covered under insurance, not covered, not provided...these words join those conversations as well. We know all too well the financial burden that this disease puts on a family. We hope to help ease that burden by leading a team for Mississippi's Walk for Diabetes. Our motto has become, through all the highs and all the lows, hold fast to hope for a cure. We would greatly appreciate any and all help you could provide to help us with this cause. We would love to be able to say one day that Kambree HAD diabetes and pray everyday for a cure. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your help in our fight.
