Thirst Project is an organization that helps raise money and awareness for the water crisis around the world. The UGA chapter specifically raises money to build wells in Swaziland. Waterborne diseases kill more children every single year than AIDS, Malaria, and all world violence combined. By providing a community with safe drinking water, disease rates can drop by up to 88% virtually overnight! Child mortality rates can drop up to 90%- overnight! There are so many other benefits for building wells in these villages. Our goal is to give Swaziland 100% clean water by the year 2020.
