Fight the Flu Foundation was built in honor of my daughter Scarlet Anne who died December 19, 2014 from H3N2 influenza. I was a mother who didn't find vaccinations important until my daughter died from a vaccine preventable disease. It wasn't until my daughter died did I realize how important the Flu vaccination is. I am now a huge advocate for vaccinations. The mission of Fight the Flu Foundation is to educate on Flu vaccination as well as the flu itself. To tell my story along with 11 other families who I know lost their child to the flu.
Many other families have suffered a tragic loss from the Flu. Our goal is to Fight the Flu and the first step in fighting this horrible disease is with education. This campaign allows all of us to continue our childs legacy through Fight the Flu Foundation as well as have the honor of impact communities and saving lives through educating!
The Fight the Flu Hat Campaign is a campaign that we have encouraged all communities to be involved! This campaign is just one way we can reach families and educate about the flu. Create awareness and talk about the importance of vaccination. We are looking for volunteers to crochet infant hats. No particular pattern or colors. You can crochet by hand or use a loom. Our goal is 100k hats by 2016-2017 flu season. We will send a shipment of baby hats containing 2,000 hats. In each hat bag there will be education material and a story from one of us mothers who lost their child to the Flu. We will be sending a shipment to one hospital in each state.
We are also looking for volunteers to get volunteers! People who can represent the campaign publicly to gather additional volunteers!
In order for this campaign to be successful we need your help. No donation is too small. Every little bit will help us supply yarn, looms, crocheting classes as well as postage, shipping, and printed materials.
Please share this campaign with your friends!
