On April 5, 2011, I suffered a stroke. I was 29 years old. It affected the right side of my body. So I learned how to do everything left-handed and Love Your Brain helped me realize that it’s okay to ask for help.
After my stroke, I got involved with Access Sport. They introduced me to Zeno, and then Zeno introduced me to Love Your Brain. Now I do Ski Camp, Florida Sports Camp, and the Love Your Brain retreat.
This is my third year attending the Love Your Brain retreat and walking in the Vermont City Marathon. I am so excited to see everybody and cheer everybody on. Go Brain Farmers!
I love this Love Your Brain retreat because I feel at home because everybody there knows what I went through and they’re there to help and support me. They are family to me now.
I’m walking as far as I can go. I’m hoping for a mile or a mile and a half.
Please support me. Any amount counts. Please support Love Your Brain and Zeno because they mean the world to me.
Before I had my stroke, one of my hobbies was to draw. During the 2014 Love Your Brain retreat, Adam Pearce told me to try to draw lefty and I gave it a try. I kept practicing and I got way better. Thanks to him I began to draw again, which I love doing. This is one of my drawings I drew for Brain Farmers.
