The Big Chill is a night of drinks, food, and great prizes all while supporting the Chill Foundation-Chicago, non-profit youth development program that uses snowboarding and other board sports to teach life-skills and self-esteem to underserved youth. Chill provides programming at no cost to the youth and families we serve, and therefore relies heavily on fundraising efforts to support our program. Funds raised through the raffle at this event have helped us double the size of our program and drastically increase the number of underserved youth we are able to serve annually. See the last two Big Chill results and what those funds helped accomplished.
What those funds did: Funds raised at this event allowed for Chill Chicago to transition from seasonal snow program to a full-time year round program and grow closer to the goal of local sustainability.
What those funds did: These funds allowed us to equip and implement a fall 2015 Skate program. Growing our programs to two seasons has allowed us to increase the number of youth we are able to serve annually.
What those funds did: Funds raised at this event allowed for Chill Chicago to add its third season of programming with a Summer Stand-Up Paddle board bring us to year round programming.

The Chill Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit youth development program started by Jake and Donna Carpenter of Burton snowboards in 1997 in Burlington, Vermont. Our mission is to provide opportunities for underserved youth to build self-esteem and life skills through snowboarding and other board sports. In 2001, the Chicago Chill program was developed as a seasonal snow program impacting 80 Chicagoland youth each year. As of September 2014, Chill Chicago expanded to a full-time year round program in order to reach even more of Chicagoland’s underserved youth annually. Our program serves children between the ages of 10 and 18 and uses snowboarding and other board sports as a vehicle to teach skills of respect, patience, persistence, responsibility, courage, and pride. By providing youth with a positive environment, support from positive role models, and a sense of purpose we are able to empower youth to reach goals they never thought possible.
Thank you to all those that were able to attend the Big Chill.
