Howdy! The Barnyard Foundation is a local Las Vegas 501(c)3 A non-profit organization founded by our active-duty military family and servicing the southern Nevada Community we all call home.

The Barnyard Foundation has four powerful purposes and offers on-site and off-site traveling programs:

Rescues: Dedicated to providing a safe home at our private facility for rescued farm animals in need. These animals may have been abused, unable to re-locate with their previous family to another state or abandoned by their owners as a result of economic hardship such as home foreclosure, loss of employment, insufficient income or death and illness.

Therapeutic Animal Sessions: Providing innovative, empowering and healing animal-assisted Activities & therapy (AAA/AAT) to people of all ages and backgrounds. Our animal therapy program includes certified animal therapists to assist people in our community like veterans (think PSTD or physical disability), children with Autism & special needs, senior citizens with Alzheimer's and dementia, recovering addicts, and depression. It is scientifically proven that animal therapy works and makes a difference!

Educational youth programs: Learn about and explore animals, culture, fitness, arts, and literature! Enhancing educational, interactive and hands-on barnyard animal activities for schools, churches, daycare centers, and other educational based programs. Unfortunately, the majority of our city’s residents are at a disadvantage as over 60% of our community’s children & adults have never been able to experience or interact with farm life up close and personal. The Farming culture is disappearing.

Our beneficial learning programs aim to help our youth learn to be creative in a non-judgmental environment, such as learning to read to a Llama, exercise with bunny yoga, create magic by painting with a unicorn or walking a mile with a goat. Children can enhance their understanding in a non-judgmental environment and a no-drama Llama activity makes learning and the arts more fun. After all, animals don’t judge or bully a child like other humans regrettably can do.

Youth community Involvement: Let's give teenagers a reason to get off the couch, log off social media, get outdoors and stay out of trouble through our supervised volunteering and community involvement. Teenagers will learn to care for and respect animals, themselves and their community.

Our programs offer an opportunity for connection, compassion, play, and healing for those suffering from both physical and emotional pain. Supporting the Barnyard Foundation is a beautiful way to ensure the animals in our care have what they need to thrive, and the people we serve can reap the benefits of animal-assisted activities. The benefits of Animal Assisted Activities are incredible. Exposure to animals with the support of a trained animal therapist can help lift mood, ease physical pain, reduce anxiety and depression, and increase a feeling of connection and community.
