Help feed the most vulnerable people in Sioux Falls!

The Banquet serves 200,000 meals each year to people living in poverty in Sioux Falls, SD. Volunteers serve hot, nutritious meals to families, individuals, elderly, disabled and people who struggle with addiction. Meals are served 13 times each week and volunteers serve their "guests" with compassion, dignity and respect. Everyone is welcome at The Banquet where people gather, receive nourishment and experience love in action.The Banquet opened its doors 33 years ago, serving one meal each week. Since then, this organization has expanded to serving 13 meals each week in two locations. Between 600-900 guests come daily to receive a hot, delicious meal prepared by volunteers who take the time to share food and fellowship with their guests.

Your donations will help The Banquet compete for additional grant money through the Gannett Foundation.

The Banquet must raise at least $6,000 before May 11, 2018 to be eligible for a $100,000 grant.

The money raised through this fundraiser will go toward serving costs that are not covered by volunteer groups.

Every meal served at The Banquet is prepared, served and paid for by volunteer groups. While the volunteers cover the cost of the actual main course and sides dishes served, they are not billed for the supplies needed to cook the meal. For example, volunteer groups DO NOT pay for any of the spices that go into the recipes, such as garlic, basil or oregano. Items that are not covered by volunteer serving groups are as follows:

The Banquet, through general fund donations, spends $35,000 each year to cover the costs of these essential serving supplies for our main location and Banquet West. The Banquet works to keep the cost of serving a meal as low as possible because for many of our groups adding additional serving supply costs could make it difficult for groups to collect the money necessary to pay for the food.
