Located in the heart of Washington Heights in New York City, The Armory Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving youth by promoting fitness and education through a broad range of community, educational, and athletic programs.
Armory College Prep High School, Middle School, and Great Minds programs offer college access, academic enrichment, and counseling to students in grades 5-12. Programs continue the vision of "keeping kids on track," the vision of late founder Dr. Norbert Sander.
The Armory Foundation offers two track and field programs for students in grades 3-8 who go to school or live in the Washington Heights, Inwood, and Harlem communities of NYC. CityTrack is designed for students in grades 6-8 to learn and enhance their running, jumping, and throwing skills. Little Feet engages 3rd, 4th and 5th graders to enjoy forming healthy, physical activity.
Now recognized as one of the fastest tracks in the world, The Armory annually hosts over 100 track and field competitions and training for more than 220,000 athletes and 300,000 visitors ranging from elementary school youth to senior citizens. The facility is also a welcoming space for local community-based, non-profit neighbor organizations.
