It Won’t Be Pretty …
But like November of 2015, I’m not shaving again this month in support of prostate cancer research. I was diagnosed a couple of years ago with “the smallest amount and least aggressive” prostate cancer. “Small” and “least” are nice but it is still there; I am part of an “Active Surveillance” program which includes regular blood work and depending on levels, further tests. There appears to be a lot that is misunderstood about prostate cancer.
City of Hope has been a passion of mine, and the entire Chicago real estate community, for many years. Indeed, some of you might have had to suffer through my guitar playing and singing in the Square Feets at the annual House of Blues event, or some bad jokes at the Spirit of Life dinner a few dinners ago. The point is we are behind COH’s efforts because it is worth it and we are personally involved.
If you want to grow a beard in solidarity, great (it does save time getting ready in the morning!)! I don’t know if you could possibly look as bad for the next 30 days as I do but give it a shot! If you’d like to join my team, also great. If you would like to support the cause financially, COH and prostate cancer sufferers like me would be very grateful. Thank you in advance for any and all support!
