Hello everyone, My name is Aissatou Kaba. I was born and raised in Dakar, Senegal. I started the Giving Journey as my way of being part of the solution for improving the conditions of living for many children in Africa. Growing up, I thought the only way I can achieve this was to work for a huge Multilateral Organization but came to realize that in order for me to feel whole I had to start on my own and this is the journey I am on. I will be traveling to Senegal, early 2017 to visit an Organization called "La Pouponniere. La Pouponniere is in line with my charity initiative as it helps prematurely born infant and orphans with food, shelter and medical assistance. I will document my trip and post it on my page. It's a giving journey and I will sure take you all in that journey with me to make the world a better living place. Funds will be used to supplement for baby items we don't get and barrel shipping fees. THE GIVING JOURNEY- What one person discards as old or unusable can become a valuable treasure for someone else. This is especially true in developing countries like Senegal, West Africa where many children and adolescents have limited to no access to necessities outside of food and shelter. As a practical solution, The Giving Journey was founded as a global charitable organization committed to improving the quality of life of Senegalese foster care children and adolescents. The organization accomplishes this through collection and shipping of usable items in the United States for overseas transport to West Africa. Vision: To broaden children’s worldview of global love, compassion, concern, and care for their welfare and development. Mission Statement: The Giving Journey inspires global hope and goodwill by collecting and shipping diapers, baby bottles, wipes gently used children’s clothing, books, coloring books and other usable items for homeless and foster care children in Senegal, West Africa. And we have a streamlined process for getting the work done: 1) Collect donations 2) Inspect and clean items 3) Pack in shipping barrels 4) Ship overseas to partner organizations for distribution Thank you
