BENEFITING: Victim Services Toronto
This fall between October 2nd and 13th, Toronto Police Superintendent Heinz Kuck is raising funds for our cause. Kuck will be climbing three Adirondack mountain high peaks in 3 days totalling over 15,000 feet of elevation. The journey will take him from Toronto to Upper State New York in the Lake Placid/Wilmington area where he will establish his base of operations. From there each day for 3 days he will climb the following peaks.
The highest mountain of the 46 Adirondack high peaks is Mount Marcy, towering 5,344 feet above sea level. It is one of the most distinctive features of the Adirondack landscape. Mount Marcy is home to Lake Tear of the Clouds, the highest lake in New York State at 4,292 feet, and the source of the Hudson River.
Algonquin Mountain is the tallest peak along the MacIntyre Mountain Range and the second highest in New York State with an Elevation of 5,114’.
With an elevation of 4867’ it is the 5th highest peak in New York State, but due to its foramtion, Whiteface provides the greatest continuous vertical drop in eastern North America at 3,430 feet.
As he travels, Kuck will stay inspired by the strength and courage of those affected by crime, sudden death and trauma who have endured their own journey. We are asking for support for the cause and value contributions of any amount so that Victim Services Toronto can keep doing what they do best.
