Thanksgiving Lunch for Children Orphaned by deportation
Organized by: Roberto Castro
EVENT DATE Nov 22, 2014
We need your support to provide an Early Thanksgiving Lunch on November 22nd, 2014 for U.S. citizen children who have been separated from their parents due to immigration and deportation laws.
For these children, the holidays are often a harsh reminder of lost connections. They miss the comfort of having a place where they are always welcome. For this reason, we are preparing this lunch for these children that are under the care of American Fraternity, Inc.
This non-for-profit organization’s mission is to “serve and educate the local and national community of immigrants by helping them integrate and adjust to American society, culture and legal processes.” You can learn more about them by visiting their website: http://www.americanfraternity.org
Our goal is for these kids to know that, even though they might be away from their parents, they do have people that care for their well-being and in this case, that they do have a seat at our table. Frankly, it is an honor for us to serve them, to enrich their lives and their hearts.
We are dedicated to the process of making that happen but we need your help. I am writing to ask for a financial donation in order to provide food for 150 of these children.
American Fraternity is a non-profit organization (501c3) and your donation is tax-deductible. Their Federal Tax ID # XXXXXXXXX.
We would need an answer ASAP so we can finalize any details for the lunch.
