John Volken Academy
The John Volken Academy is a long-term residential drug and alcohol treatment center for young men and women aged 18-34 that goes far beyond other treatment centers. Our residents overcome their addictions, as well as further their education, receive extensive career training, and gain all the tools they need for a happy and successful life of sobriety. There are currently three academies in Vancouver, Canada, Phoenix, Arizona and Seattle, Washington. The program’s affordability is at the heart of its purpose. Other than a relatively small one-time admittance fee, the entire costs of the 2-year+ program is paid for by the John Volken Foundation. This includes the students’ housing, food, job training, education, counseling, and more. Our mission is to be a world leader in providing the most effective and most affordable addiction recovery treatment teaching relevant life and job skills, instilling in each of our students the desire to always be the best that they can be for themselves, for their families, and for their community. Lift The Children
Lift The Children is a non-profit organization dedicated to seeking out the world’s most destitute children and providing them with the necessities, training, and inspiration they need to develop, grow and become self-sufficient. We work in some of the poorest slums in the world to provide aide directly to orphanages caring for their children. 100% of all donations go directly to the orphanages as the John Volken Foundation covers all administrative expenses. Lift The Children is inclusive of all faiths, cultures and nationalities and is committed to feeding, educating and lifting children out of poverty. We are helping support over 10,000 children in more than 80 orphanages.
Lift the Children also implements long-term self-sustainability programs with the goal of educating the poor out of poverty by teaching generations how to increase food production. The backbone of this strategy is based on the agricultural science of permaculture, which mimics natural eco systems to produce more food using fewer resources. 100% of all funds raised by Team Volken will directly support the John Volken Academy and Lift the Children.
