THE STORY:

Bay Area Boys wrote -

Us Bay Area Boys are Vietnamese and had the chance to build a life to call our own in the U.S. after the war. Unfortunately, those who never left after the war were not so lucky.  Today, millions of people who were sprayed by Agent Orange during the Vietnam War have lasting physical and mental disabilities, which have led to amputated body parts and cerebral palsy, to name a few conditions.

Team Vietnam has decided to take action. Partnering with War Legacies Project, we will provide food, transportation and quality education for children with disabilities.  Without your help, these children would not be able to attend school and are kept at home and hidden by their community.  The Vietnamese government does not fund these programs but we as caring citizens can.

Please join me in generously donating for every mile we run on this 26.2 mile marathon to give greater opportunities for the children who have been affected by the Vietnam War. It takes just 30 seconds and you don't have to register for an account (and let's face it, you just have to give up one cocktail a  week for a month).   My personal goal is $1000 and my team goal is $4000.

On June 16th, Team Vietnam runs to acknowledge what happened in the past and what we can do about the future.  It would mean so much to me if you could support my goals - thank you so much for supporting where I have come from.

About The War Legacies Project

The War Legacies Project focuses on the long-term impacts of war to develop a fuller understanding of the costs of war, increase public understanding of these costs, foster public dialogue about the impacts of war and conduct programs that help mitigate the impacts of war at home and abroad. Currently our work is primarily focused on the long-term health and environmental impacts of the use of Agent Orange during the Vietnam War. We also work to address the on-going impacts of unexploded ordinance in Vietnam and Laos.
