Please join our team through the Marathon and beyond. We appreciate any and all support whether a direct donation; sponsoring a runner; joining as an athlete or advocate; or just contacting us to see how you can partner with our great organization. The Pittsburgh Marathon is a great fit because it takes place in a fantastic City in this amazing country - it raises money and awareness for our Veterans and it is all done through physical fitness.
Please join us - please donate.
EMAIL KATE BIELAK (Chapter Captain for Western PA) to get on our mailing list for updates and info! kate.bielak@teamrwb.org I will help and answer any questions or concerns too!!!!
Team RWB does not have an actual race shirt. We wear "The Eagle". Go to www.teamrwb.org to sign up to be a Team RWB member. Veterans get a Free shirt if they agree to pay for shipping. Non Veterans have the option to buy a shirt in our Team RWB store at "Wear The Eagle".
Our runners also like to carry the American Flag. Will you carry Old Glory for the Pittsburgh Marathon, 1/2 or Relay? Start training now and feel the proud sensation of raising the flag through the streets of Pittsburgh all for a great cause.
Team Red, White & Blue wants to transform the way America supports its veterans when they return from active duty. Our intention is to create a community of veterans, their families, and American citizens who can enjoy authentic social interaction and shared experiences through activities and events all across America.
Team RWB’s mission is enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.
1. Reintegration through physical fitness
+ Physical: rebuild the body, give structure to life and bolster self-esteem
+ Psychological: help to process experiences from Iraq/Afghanistan
+ Social: connect with people to run, bike, workout, and be active
2. Personal connectivity between Veterans and citizens in the
community where they now live
+ Community-building events that bring Veterans together with citizens
+ Formation of friendships and natural individual relationships
3. Galvanization of esprit de corps and team membership
+ Bringing back the feeling from the military of pride and being part of a unit
