WELCOME TO TEAM KRISTEN!!
If you have landed on this page, you are in the right spot for the Fabulous Faith 5K Fundraiser supporting Childhood Cancer and Kristen Garcia! Thank you for joining our team!!! I am the Adult Team Leader of Team Kristen, but the idea stemmed from my 16 year old son, Matthew Grogan, who is an 11 year Ewing's Sarcoma cancer survivor himself! He learned of Kristen Garcia's battle with Leukemia from his high school friend, Micky, who is Kristen's older sister. Knowing how difficult the journey is, he wanted to gather a team of friends together to encourage and support Kristen and let her know she has so many praying for her recovery. Martin High School's 2020, a student-led ministry for freshmen and sophomores jumped on board to help sponsor and promote Team Kristen and here we are!
Why the Fabulous Faith 5K? The Grogan family met Faith Rose Lautzenheiser in the summer of 2012, just shortly after she was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, bone cancer, of her arm. We forged a fast friendship with the Lautzenheisers as I shared information and we made visits to Faith. Faith fought bravely for 10 months and ultimately met her Savior in Heaven on June 6, 2013 due to chemotherapy induced heart failure. Faith was an amazing 10 year old little girl filled with more joy and courage than you could imagine. She has forever left a mark on our hearts.
The mission of Fabulous Faith's Foundation is to end the suffering caused by pediatric cancer by supporting cancer research, affected families, providers and facilities, while promoting awareness and hope that a cure will be found.
