BENEFITING: NYRR Youth Programs
ORGANIZER: NYRR Youth Programs
My whole life I’ve set goals and worked hard to achieve them. One of my greatest achievements was winning 2013 Wimbledon Championship. That is a day I will never forget. Then life took a turn. I fell extremely ill, lost so much weight that I was only 100 lbs. (47kgs). After much time in the hospital and countless tests, I’m doing better and it’s time to set my next goal - running the TCS New York City Marathon.
I’m running the marathon to raise money for NYRR Team for Kids. This charity is dedicated to raising funds to provide free running programs that gets kids moving, healthy and having fun. NYRR serves more than 215,000 kids across the United States, many of whom come from disadvantaged backgrounds. The programs also help the students set goals and work towards them whether it’s in running, school or life. I want my story to be an inspiration to these kids. I want them to know that despite what challenges arise, Nothing is Impossible!
Please consider a donation to support my marathon run and NYRR Team for Kids. Together we can help inspire the next generation of champions.
