BENEFITING: Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary
ORGANIZER: Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary
EVENT: 2012 Boston Marathon
Welcome, and thanks for visiting my website! As you must already know, I am running the 2012 Boston Marathon to support the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Initially, I joined Team Eye and Ear primarily because they presented me with an opportunity to run the Boston Marathon, which is something I've always wanted to do. However, after meeting the team and listening to the stories of those who have benefitted (and continue to benefit) from the tremendous work performed by the people at Mass. Eye and Ear, I feel like I have become a part of something really special.
I can't begin to imagine how terrifying it must be to face the prospect of losing one's sight or hearing. Our senses are the means by which we experience world around us, and the loss or impairment of any one of them would impact our quality of life in the most fundamental way. The doctors and scientists at Mass. Eye and Ear treat and research any condition having to do with the eyes, ears, nose, throat, head and neck in order to save, or improve the quality of, the lives of people around the world who are facing these challenges and worse. These doctors don't just apply the latest advances in medicine; they invent them, to the benefit of patients both here in Massachusetts and around the globe.
I've set a personal goal to raise $6,000 for Mass. Eye and Ear. Please join me in supporting this very important cause! If you have friends or family who might have special reasons, personal or otherwise, for wanting to participate in this fundraiser, I encourage you to invite them to join in.
Thank you very much for your support! I look forward to achieving this goal together.
