EVENT DATE: Jun 17, 2017
Casey Cattell wrote -Join me on "Team Cattell" for my second annual Walk to Stop The Clot! We hope that you will lace up your sneakers for a very scenic 3+ mile walk through lower Manhattan and over the Brooklyn Bridge to support the National Blood Clot Alliance. Last year was such a great day! If you have any questions about the event, please don't hesitate to reach out. If you can't join us in NYC, please consider donating to my team to raise funds for the National Blood Clot Alliance. Your support means more than you'll ever know.
Why I'm doing this: Many of you know that I am a two time maternal near miss survivor and that we are incredibly blessed to have our little family intact. In June 2015, I was diagnosed with Bilateral Pulmonary Emboli when I was 24 weeks pregnant which threatened my life and the life of my unborn son. Then in October 2015, I suffered a massive postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) a week after delivering him that nearly cost me my life again. Every June and October, we celebrate survival by raising awareness for DVT/PEs, PPH and maternal health issues so that others know the signs and can be survivors too.
