On April 30th, I am running the Women's Half Marathon in Central Park for Team CARE!
CARE works in 94 countries to save lives, defeat poverty, and achieve social justice. Through their 1033 projects, CARE provides education and training programs, as well as supplies to women and communities in need. They also advocate for policy change, all working towards lasting impacts. CARE has projects centered on: girls education, clean water, maternal health, violence against women, child marriage, disaster relief, climate change, and economic development, to name a few.
Every dollar counts, and no amount is too small!
$7 can provide one set of toilet hygiene items, improving hygiene and sanitation in schools in Nepal.
$23 can provide temporary emergency shelter and items such as clothes, blankets and sleeping bags for one refugee in Serbia and Croatia.
$46 can provide a set of textbooks for one medical student for one year in Afghanistan.
$81 can provide a water-smart agriculture training for one community-based trainer, who will then train other smallholder farmers in their communities in Malawi.
$277 can provide training to one business mentor, who can then provide business trainings to girls in Rwanda.
$345 can fund the rehabilitation of a well that is no longer working or clean, making it produce safe water for the community again in Ethiopia.
$575 can buy one school handwashing unit (water point with multiple sinks) in Nepal.
$1,035 can provide training for an advanced placement (AP) teacher for one year in Somalia.
$1,997 can fund the organization and training of one village savings and loans association, which can lead to the financial empowerment of marginalized women in Vietnam.
Thank you so much for donating and showing you CARE :)
