EVENT DATE: Nov 01, 2015
The Knitting Runner!
This fall I will have two races:
Kansas City Marathon on October 17th.
New York City Marathon on November 1st.
I am running again to raise awareness Alzheimer's disease victims and their caregivers and funds for the Alzheimer's Association. There has been a lot of good progress recently in Alzheimer's research but we are still way behind on supporting the loved ones who care for those with Alzheimer's.
To help remind people that they care I'll be doing two fun and crazy things:
In Kansas City I'll be making another Guinness World Records attempt to go with my successful bid for the "Longest scarf knitted whilst running a marathon". This one will be, "Largest crochet doily while running a marathon". It will be amazing; me and a big lacey thing.
In NYC I'll be making crochet flowers with my fingers due to security restrictions where no tools are allowed. If you have ever participated in a "Walk to end Alzheimer's" you know that flowers are used to symbolize loved ones that we have lost to this terrible disease. I'll be giving out the flowers as I make them on the race. Look at my website ( http://knittingrunner.com ) for information soon on how you can get one of my "training" flowers that I make while running as I prepare for the marathon.
Your donation makes a huge difference. It is important to me to reach as many donors showing that they care as possible. Even if you can only donate a dollar it makes a huge difference to me. Your donation energy keeps me running and our focus on Alzheimer's gets us closer to a cure and the support caregivers need.
Don't forget to tell a friend about this awesome craziness for a good cause.
