"Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! On October 22, 2017, Stacy Sims and I will be competing in the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM.) We are excited to be racing along side the Kyle Pease Foundation and The Ability Experience! The MCM holds a very special place in my heart as my father was a 100 % Disabled Viet Nam Marine Veteran and also an avid runner when he was in high school I will be doing my first Marathon in his honor. Stacy Sims is a long time friend and supporter of the Foundation and I'm now a veteran adaptive athlete with KPF with doing several 5ks and two Half Marathons! My team mate Stacy Sims has finished 5 Ironmans as well as numerous 70K and 5K runs. I enjoy racing so much that I tell my pusher to go faster and faster. My mother said she is going to find someone to do a 100 mile race with me as I never want to stop!
The purpose of the Kyle Pease Foundation (KPF) is to create awareness and raise funds to promote success for persons with disabilities by providing assistance to meet their individual needs through sports. Programs may include scholarship opportunities, purchasing of medical equipment or adaptive sports equipment for others or contributing to other organizations that provide similar assistance to disabled persons as well as participating in educational campaigns to create awareness about Cerebral Palsy and other disabilities. KPF will provide these services directly to individuals as well as to partner with other existing non-profit organizations to achieve these goals. Direct benefits will be limited to persons with disabilities who need adaptive sports equipment, mobility devices or medical care. You can learn more about the foundation and our race at Marine Corps here: http://www.kylepeasefoundation.org/new-events/2016/3/8/marine.
The Ability Experience is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The Ability Experience mission is, “Building leaders of tomorrow by serving people with disabilities today,” which has been fulfilled for more than 35 years. Although lives have been changed, AE's vision to “Change the way society views both people with disabilities and fraternities” remains unchanged. With your support, other individuals will get to participate in road races.
Every dollar helps and is 100% tax-deductible! Help us and so many more reach finish lines all over!"
