Sheryl Durkin wrote -I have created a Team that is participating in the first annual Mt. Hope Bridge Run on August 12, 2017. Team members are seeking donations for their efforts. All proceeds from the donations will go to the American Lung Association in honor of Joyce Pacheco. Joyce is my best friend. Joyce is truly a one in a million individual. She was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She has always been an upbeat and positive individual. I have had the pleasure of working with her at Southwest for the past 15 years. She is the one that everyone can go to one they are in a jam. She's reliable, empathetic and her smile is contagious. She listens to anyone and everyone with genuine concern. She looks into your eyes and is fully present- in a world where distractions are inherent- she can tune it out and gives everyone the time and attention that makes everyone feel like they are important. She has been through a lot of testing and heart-ache since this discovery. My goals are multi-faceted; showing Joyce how many people love and support her, raising money to find a cure for lung cancer, and raising awareness of the importance of radon testing to prevent late diagnosis' of lung cancer. Please help me with these goals!
